Celebrating 5 Years and 5th Grade! Stratford Altadena Opens 5th Grade in 2021/2022 with Middle School to Follow in 2022
The year 2021 marks Stratford Altadena campus’ five year anniversary and we are celebrating this milestone by adding 5th grade this fall! When we first expanded the Stratford School experience to southern California, we started out small with fewer than 20 students in our preschool, prekindergarten, and kindergarten programs. Interest for our school soon grew and with this increased demand for a high quality private school education, over the next few years, we added new programs and grade levels, and welcomed more and more families to our school community. This fall, we are pleased to announce the opening of a brand new fifth grade classroom — complementing our early preschool, preschool, prekindergarten, Mandarin and kindergarten through fourth grade programs with over 140 students and growing!
What makes our campus so special? First and foremost, it is our students, parents, and staff who contribute to a culture of learning, compassion, camaraderie, and collaboration. When you walk into our school, the first thing that comes to mind is the kind and caring school community we enjoy. Our students thrive in this enriched culture and diverse environment and, over the last five years, each one has excelled and matured into well-rounded individuals, not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. Students who graduate from Stratford are well prepared for the next step in their educational journey.
In addition to the exemplary education we provide, our campus gives back to the community in many ways, fostering a climate of charity and care locally and nationally. We’ve consistently supported the Elizabeth House, St. Jude’s Hospital, American Heart Association, LA Food Bank, and the Long Beach Mission, amongst other local charities. Stratford students and their families have shown a level of generosity for the community and those in need in a way that is inspiring and hopeful as we strive to create a culture of caring that extends beyond our classrooms.
What’s next for Stratford Altadena? Middle School! We are thrilled to announce that we are on track to open Middle School beginning with the 2022-2023 school year with a six grade. Our beautiful campus, nestled in a quiet scenic neighborhood with San Gabriel mountain views, affords us the ability to continue our path of growth and expand the Stratford experience as we prepare our students for high school and their unique futures beyond.
