To assist prospective students and families, we have outlined key information below about the Stratford Preparatory admissions process. This includes details on our regular high school application process and our Guaranteed Admissions Process, which is available for currently enrolled 8th-grade Stratford students. Additionally, we’ve provided a printable Stratford Preparatory High School Admissions Checklist for your convenience.

9th Grade Application Process for Stratford Preparatory High School

The first step of the application process is to create an account through Ravenna. After you create your account with Ravenna, select San Francisco Bay Area as your school region and search for Stratford Preparatory High School.

The application process includes the following steps:

  • Online Application
    The online application features sections for extracurricular interests, a student and parent questionnaire, and interview registration. The application deadline for the class of 2029 is Friday, January 17, 2025. Current Stratford Middle School students can use the code StratfordStudent2024 to waive the application fee.
  • Transcripts
    Stratford Preparatory requires students to submit a copy of their 7th and 8th grade transcripts. Please complete the Request for Academic Records Form electronically in Ravenna.
  • Letters of Recommendation
    Confidential letters of recommendation forms can be requested through Ravenna. Stratford Preparatory requires two letters of recommendation:

    • English teacher recommendation form
    • Math teacher recommendation form
    • Science teacher recommendation form (optional)
  • Family Interview
    After submitting their final application, applicants must sign up for a family interview through the online application process.
  • Standardized Testing
    If your student is applying for regular admission and is currently enrolled in Stratford Middle School, we are happy to review their CTP scores from the end of Grade 7 in place of the ISEE or SSAT scores. However, if your child would like to submit additional test scores to enhance their application, they are welcome to do so.

The High School notifications date is March 14, 2025. The deadline to submit an enrollment contract and $2500 non-refundable deposit is March 28, 2025.

Guaranteed Admissions Process for Currently Enrolled Stratford Students

Guaranteed Admissions
Guaranteed Admissions allows currently enrolled Stratford students in Grade 8 to re-enroll into Grade 9 at one of our Stratford Preparatory High Schools before we begin the regular admissions process. With this program, high school enrollment is guaranteed. No waiting for acceptances, no applications, and no essays—eliminating the stress of the traditional high school application process!

Eligible Students
We’re excited to welcome all Stratford School Grade 8 students to Stratford Preparatory High School. No matter which Stratford campus your Grade 8 student attends, they are eligible for our re-enrollment program as long as the following requirements are met:

    • Must be currently enrolled in Stratford for 8th Grade
    • 3.0 GPA or above
    • “C” or above in core academic subjects
  • General good standing as a student (No unremediated behavioral issues)

The Guaranteed Admissions Process
To secure your child’s place in Grade 9, simply submit the enrollment contract through Stratford Connect along with a $2,500 non-refundable deposit during the month of November. 

For Stratford families who choose to re-enroll after the November 30 deadline, students may apply through the standard high school admissions process via Ravenna, with an application deadline of January 17, 2025 (see above). Please note that students applying through the regular admissions process described above are not guaranteed acceptance and will receive their admissions decisions on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Admissions Events

Families can learn about Stratford Preparatory High School at an array of exciting events, and we encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities. Shadow a current high school student, attend one of our Open Houses, or join a Virtual High School Information Night. These events allow you to tour the school, meet our dedicated staff and amazing students, and ask any questions you have about our programs and community.

  • General Information Sessions (Virtual) – Designed for all interested families, our Leadership Team will introduce you to Stratford Preparatory Blackford’s extensive four-year high school curriculum, athletic and co-curricular opportunities, college counseling services, and the admissions process.
  • Open House – Families may tour the campus, meet teachers, attend presentations from department heads, learn about the robust college counseling program, and explore extracurricular activities and athletics.
  • Campus Tours – We encourage families to schedule a campus tour and attend our events to learn more about Stratford Preparatory Blackford.
  • Shadow DaysStudents will enjoy an on-campus experience from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM. While visiting Stratford Prep Blackford High School, your child will have a chance to get to know the campus better, attend multiple classes, eat lunch with high school students, visit with a member or members of the high school leadership team, and create valuable relationships with students, teachers, and staff.
